Chapter 1

~Author's POV~

A leaf flowed graciously inside with the gentle breezes flowing outside. Birds were chirping, Kids were playing out the hospital park. Outside the world felt like heaven but inside the room, Aditi layed on the bed.

Her face pale, the only sounds inside the hospital room were of the beeping of the machines. The leaf was about to land on her hand but someone closed the window. It was Nyrah, Her best friend and her only friend since they were 14.

"Jada thandi hawa tumhare liye acchi nahi, Adi."

Nyrah looked at Aditi with a small smile.

"Agar tumhe kuch ho jayege, toh mera kya hoga? Akhir tum meri ek lauti dost jo ho."

Aditi smiled faintly.

"Ab toh mere pas bas 6 mahine hai, doctors ne bola ki agar koi chamakar hua toh 12 mahine."

"Aesa mat bolo. Tum thik ho jao gi."

Aditi nodded faintly with a soft smile. Their conversation was interrupted when Nyrah's phone rang. She excused herself out while aditi stared out the window, gazing the old banyan tree.

"Beta tum lucky ho tumhe aesi dost mili hai."

The old auntie next to her said.

"Hai, Uski life perfect hai. Ache looks , EIG mein permanent position, bas ab woh shaadi karle."

Aditi said while still staring out the window. The nurse entered the room.

"Mrs. Aditi patel? Please we need to talk alone."

I walked out of the room till the end of the corridor.

"Mrs. Aditi, aapko fees pay karni hogi varna aap discharge ho jaiye."

"F-fees pay nahi hoi hai kya?"

The nurse nodded.

"Mein kuch arrangements karti hu."

Aditi returned back to her room, her heart thammering in her heart rapidly out of anger. She quickly took out her phone and wrote him a message.

Meine tumhe fees pay karne ko bola that

Tumne unhe gambling mein toh nahi udha diye?

Sachit, phone uthao

She tried calling again but no one answered.

She sighed and discharged herself out of the hospital. She slowly walked towards the road. The weather was perfect. Slightly sunny and brezzes grazing softly against her skin.

She got the sight of a taxi driver. And called him over.

As she sat in the taxi , the car started driving. He kept looking at her through the mirror.

She looked pale, her cheekbones visible. Her lips dry and her eyes had purple circles underneath. Her hair was covered with a cap.

"Aapki tabiyat kharab hai?"

"Hain."

"Kya hua hai?"

"Stomach cancer. Stage 4."

The taxi driver didn't respond. He felt a bit bad for her.

TIME SKIP

Aditi got out of the car and the driver drove away.

'Wallo apartments'

Was written on the board outside the house. She slowly walked towards her apartment. As she was about to open the lock , she remembered.

Flashback

"Meine tumhe bola tha na door lock repair kar dina."

Aditi said to Sachit. As she entered their apartment after work. The washing machine was still beeping. The whole house dirty with dishes in the sink, clothes laid on the floor, th

"Mein kapade laga kar jati hu, tum band toh kardia karo. Aur yeh noodles khane ke baad box toh phek diya karo."

Sachit abruptly stood up. And walked towards her. He slapped. Hard. Her face snapped sideways. Her cheek red.

"Jyada mat bola karo. Woh toh mein itna generous hu jo tumhe Ghar se nahi nikala."

Sachit spoke before walking inside the room and slamming the door shut.

Flashback end

Before trying to use the key, aditi pushed the door and luckily it was open. She stepped inside and saw heels. Black heels. She never wore heels. It clearly indicated that someone else was in the house.

She slowly entered the house. A pink bag layed on the couch. She slowly walked further inside.

"Tum usko chaat se dhaka dedena, khel khatam. Waise aditi ke marne par kitne paise milege?"

"50 lakh"

"Us kutti ke liye kuch jyada nahi hai?"

"Koi kaam ki nhi hai woh"

"Ye wala bag order kar du?"

Aditi's heart almost stopped.

The person she trusted the most, her only friend

And her husband.

Both layed on the bed naked.
